One of the most popular beaches in the area and a favourite with the locals, El Cable Beach gets its name from Marbella’s mining and steel trade past. It is named after the cable that used to run across the city to transport minerals to freight ships, and you can still see the famous mining tower from this popular coastal spot. At 400 metres long and 40 metres wide, Playa del Cable is a long and spacious stretch of sand.
It has been awarded the Blue Flag, a distinction from the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
You can also enjoy spectacular views of Concha Mountain with the city at its feet. Today, El Cable Beach is one of Marbella’s most famous and trendy beaches, lined with chic beach bars and restaurants - the perfect stop for a sun-soaked lunch by the Mediterranean Sea!
